Now that the Supernova hackathon is over, we can sit back, relax, and take a look at the awesomeness that has been developing on the Internet Computer during the past months.
For quite some time now, I have been fascinated by the creativity of all participants in the Supernova hackathon. I have also kept a closer eye on the ones I found most promising in terms of social media and the development of Web3 community engagement.
Today I would like to showcase the projects that have been chosen to step onto the winning ladder and discover what makes them stand out, starting with the first one.
1. KONTRIBUTE
Wow, just wow! My 13-year-old self would have LOVED this. Almost as much as I’m loving it right now.
This is a platform for creative writing, where readers and writers connect through storytelling and NFTs. But wait, there’s more!
Readers can support their favourite authors by purchasing and trading NFTs from their stories. Some of the stories, like Bonsai Warriors, are interactive and the course of the story is decided by its readers themselves via voting:

5. crowdEats
CROWDEATS is a decentralized restaurant review platform.
Currently, on all online restaurant review platforms, there is no guarantee that the reviews we’re seeing are real or not. This is because of various reasons:
- The owner of the restaurant is buying fake positive reviews
- The reviews that some influencers make are mostly sponsor reviews
- It can be a “cancel” campaign by another competitor
- There are many bots commenting and rating
Overall, the current review system is being heavily manipulated by various factors.
What is the solution? The guys at crowdEats have hopped drawn inspiration by Web3 solutions, of course.
Since the whole platform’s purpose is to create a review application that eliminates false reviews and bot posting, there are a few things they’ve made sure are done, before we can post our review. You need to, of course, prove that you are in fact a human being.
After you start posting, you need to prove that you’ve actually been to the place you’re talking about. This is done by checking your location, as well as posting a picture from the restaurant/shop you’re reviewing.
Once you submit everything, a jury will vote whether your review is genuine and legit or not.
The more you post on there, the higher reputation you get.
